The Project Brief:
The Anstey Road Forrestdale project is part of the broader Mahala Estate development, with Harley Dykstra overseeing project management and surveying responsibilities. This phase of the project focused on delivering 12 residential lots, which are now all titled and sold.
Our Involvement:
With subdivision approval already in place, our role involved implementing that approval while coordinating with adjacent developers to resolve claims under Section 159 of the Planning Development Act. This section governs the shared costs of infrastructure, such as road construction, between neighboring estates.
Harley Dykstra also addressed key challenges such as tree retention, road widening, and the alignment of essential services. We worked through technical considerations such as the connection to NBN services and coordinated closely with engineers and contractors to ensure these issues were resolved efficiently.
Our team was instrumental in guiding the project to completion. We provided detailed project management, ensuring that agreements with the adjoining developer were reached regarding shared road construction costs. A significant part of the project involved negotiating agreements under Section 159, allowing us to move forward with critical infrastructure development.
Additionally, our team facilitated road widening and ensured that service alignments in road reserves were appropriately managed which included managing the retention of a large verge tree. This involved close collaboration with engineers from McDowall Affleck and contractors from Tracc Civil to ensure all challenges were addressed.
Project Management to Date:
The Forrestdale project is now completed with all lots titled and sold. The rapid sale of these blocks, which were snapped up over just a few weekends, highlights the demand for well-planned, desirable lots in this growing area. Harley Dykstra has completed its component of the project, working closely with Tracc Civil, McDowall Affleck, and UPD to deliver another successful development within Mahala Estate.
